Several Ilkeston residents appeared before Derby Magistrates’ Court among the latest cases heard recently.
Ayman Walker, 19, of Park Road, Ilkeston, guilty of possessing cocaine, driving unlicensed, and driving without due care and attention. He was handed five penalty points and fined £200.
Leslie Page, 45, of Albany Street, Ilkeston, guilty of stealing products valued at more than £25, belonging to Tesco. He was ordered to pay £12.50 compensation, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 court costs.
Tony Lambert, 58, of Blackburn Place, Ilkeston, guilty of stealing products valued at £50, belonging to Tesco. The case was adjourned.
Graham Shelton, 66, of Muskham Avenue, Ilkeston, guilty of drink driving. He was jailed for 12 weeks suspended for two years, handed a three-year driving ban, and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £154 victim surcharge.
Ostine Wigley, 49, of Wesley Street, Ilkeston, was guilty of being drunk and disorderly in a public place and assaulting a constable. He was jailed for 18 weeks suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
Peter Sisson, 52, of Earlham Close, Ilkeston, was guilty of possessing amphetamine. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £16 victim surcharge.
Lauren O’Connor, 30, of Godfrey Drive, Ilkeston, was guilty of stealing items valued at approximately £80, belonging to Tesco, and common assault. She was ordered to pay £80 compensation and jailed for 34 weeks.
Cases are often adjourned to allow for reports to be prepared or for sentencing to take place at a later hearing.
