Retired and near-retired men in Ilkeston are being invited to attend the next meeting of the Ilkeston Probus Club, taking place on Thursday 5 March 2026.
The club will meet at Erewash Valley Golf Club, with members arriving at 12 noon for a 12:30pm lunch, followed by a talk from guest speaker Paul Newsham, who is returning to give a further presentation on the subject of forensics.
Meetings usually conclude between 2:30pm and 3:00pm.
What is Probus?
Ilkeston Probus Club is part of the wider Probus movement, which brings together retired and semi-retired people to enjoy friendship, social interaction and interesting guest talks.
Each Probus club operates independently, with its own format and programme of activities. The Ilkeston branch is a men-only club, although partners are invited to attend two meetings each year.
There is no joining fee, and the annual subscription has recently been reduced to £35. In addition, membership costs £20 per month, which includes a two-course lunch and the guest speaker.
