The Belfield Leisure site in Ilkeston has officially been put up for sale following the company entering administration earlier this year.
The Hallam Fields Road industrial estate – long associated with manufacturing in the town – is now being marketed as a whole or in separate parts.
Sales details describe a fenced and gated site extending to around 9.25 acres, with industrial and warehouse units available from 2,960 sq ft upwards. The site includes a 600kVA substation, around 175 on-site parking spaces, and space for storage, trailer parking and deliveries.
The listing also highlights its location, sitting around one mile from Ilkeston town centre and approximately four miles from Junction 25 and six miles from Junction 26 of the M1.
Belfield Leisure entered administration in March after efforts to secure further funding failed, with concerns raised at the time over the future of 200 local jobs linked to the business.
The site has been associated with manufacturing in Ilkeston for decades, with the Belfield name forming a major part of the town’s industrial history.
For many local families, it wasn’t just a workplace – it was somewhere people built careers, worked alongside friends and relatives, and spent years of their lives.
With the site now on the market, attention will turn to what comes next for one of Ilkeston’s best-known industrial locations – and whether a new employer could eventually bring jobs and activity back to Hallam Fields.
