Ilkeston’s getting its very own McDonald’s at New Stanton Park, and the Golden Arches are about to go up.
A fresh planning application shows the restaurant will feature a 12-metre illuminated totem sign, glowing roof lettering, and new digital drive-thru screens – all part of the fast-food giant’s latest modern look.
The McDonald’s forms part of the wider New Stanton Park regeneration, which also includes 22 electric vehicle chargers, another drive-thru restaurant, and new commercial units on the former Stanton Ironworks site.
While there’s no confirmed opening date yet, the new signage plans suggest construction is nearing completion, with the restaurant expected to open early 2026.
Once installed, the Golden Arches will be visible from Lows Lane – a bright new landmark for one of Ilkeston’s most talked-about developments.
