New butcher opens in Ilkeston town centre

A new independent butcher’s shop has opened in Ilkeston town centre, adding to the town’s growing number of traditional food retailers.

Back Yard Bacon Ltd is now trading at 3 Bath Street, offering a range of traditional British meats alongside fresh pies and baked goods.

Customers can expect a well-stocked counter, including a variety of sausages, fresh cuts, and homemade products. The sausage selection includes flavours such as Toulouse French garlic, Lincolnshire, Cumberland and classic pork, alongside other traditional favourites.

Opening hours

The shop is currently open:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am – 1:30pm
  • Sunday: Closed

The arrival of Back Yard Bacon Ltd marks another addition to Ilkeston’s town centre, with independent businesses continuing to establish themselves locally.

Ilkeston now has three traditional butchers operating in the town, offering residents a choice of locally run shops for fresh produce – and another sign of independent businesses continuing to grow locally.
