A 27-year-old man from Morley, near Ilkeston, has appeared in court charged with three counts of rape and one count of assault.
Jack Tymon, who worked as a reporter and presenter for BBC Radio Derby between 2021 and earlier this year, is accused of raping one woman twice and of raping and assaulting a second woman in incidents said to have taken place in November and December 2017.
He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court, where he confirmed his name, age and address but entered no pleas. Tymon was granted conditional bail.
The case has now been sent to Nottingham Crown Court, where a plea and directions hearing is scheduled for 13 October 2025.
The BBC has declined to comment while court proceedings are ongoing.
