An Ilkeston man has been sentenced after being found guilty of two sexual offences against a girl.
Michael Birt was found guilty of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16 and engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15 while aged 18 or over.
Birt appeared before His Honour Judge Carter for sentence and was given a 20-month community order.
As part of the order, he must complete 120 hours of unpaid work and 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
The court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order lasting seven years.
Birt will be subject to notification requirements with the police for seven years, while a 10-year restraining order was also imposed.
The complainant is legally entitled to lifetime anonymity.
