An investigation into a house fire in Ilkeston has concluded that it was most likely caused accidentally by overheated electrics.
Emergency services were called to a property on Lathkill Avenue at 10.38pm on Thursday, August 20.
Firefighters from Ilkeston and Heanor fire stations attended alongside crews from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Eastwood and Stockhill stations.
When they arrived, crews found a fire in the kitchen at the rear of the ground floor.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze before damping down the affected area and ventilating the building.
Nobody was inside the property when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported.
Derbyshire Constabulary and East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the incident.
The final fire crews left the scene at 12.59am.
A joint investigation by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and Derbyshire Constabulary subsequently concluded that the most likely cause of the fire was accidental and resulted from overheated electrics.
