A transport company has applied to increase the number of heavy goods vehicles and trailers operating from a site near Ilkeston.

A public notice published on 5 February 2026 confirms that Newell & Wright Transport Contractors (Sheffield) Ltd has applied to change an existing Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence for its operating centre on Lows Lane, Stanton by Dale, Ilkeston (DE7 4QU).

What is being proposed?

The company is seeking permission to:

  • Keep an additional six goods vehicles
  • Keep an additional nine trailers

at the Lows Lane operating centre.

If approved, this would increase the number of heavy vehicles and trailers based at the site.

Any representations must:

  • Be sent within 21 days of the notice being published

Representations should be sent to the Traffic Commissioner at:
