Ilkeston will once again unite to pay tribute to the fallen this Remembrance Sunday, with the annual Parade, March and Service organised by the Royal British Legion – Ilkeston Branch.
Participants are asked to gather at the South Street car park before 10:20am, ahead of the parade’s departure at around 10:35am. The procession will travel through Coronation Street, Market Street, Market Place, and Wharncliffe Road, before arriving at the town’s cenotaph for the main service.
The Cenotaph Service will begin at 11:00am, including the traditional two-minute silence to honour those who gave their lives in conflict.
Residents are encouraged to line the streets, join the parade, or attend the service to pay their respects to servicemen and women past and present.
