Christmas is coming early to Ilkeston, as some of the town’s best-loved independent shops team up to bring joy to local families – and raise money for an incredible cause.
On Saturday 13th December, from 11am to 1pm, Santa will be paying a special visit to Bargain Den, Cooper’s Dog Grooming, Let It Be Gin, and Memorable Events – four popular shops working together to create a magical morning for children (and a great excuse for grown-ups to get some last-minute Christmas shopping done!).
Every child will receive a free gift from Santa, and parents can take part in a Christmas Raffle with all proceeds going to Ben’s Den, a much-loved local charity that provides holiday breaks for families who have a child with cancer or leukaemia.

The raffle includes a luxury Christmas hamper packed with festive treats, with tickets available now from any of the participating shops.
It’s a true show of community spirit – Ilkeston’s independent traders joining forces to make children smile, raise vital funds, and bring some festive sparkle to Bath Street.
💛 “We wanted to do something that gives back,” said one of the organisers. “Ben’s Den is such a special charity, and this is our way of supporting local families while spreading some Christmas cheer.”
