Eugene Coaches May update: a stress-free alternative to flying as summer trips ramp up

With ongoing disruption and uncertainty around flights – from delays to last-minute cancellations – many people are starting to rethink their travel plans.

So for this month’s update on Eugene Coaches, we’ve taken a look at what’s coming up – and why more travellers are turning to coach trips as a simpler alternative.

No airport queues. No baggage restrictions. No “is it going to be cancelled?” stress.
Just straightforward travel from local pick-up points – including Ilkeston market place for every trip.

A packed schedule of day trips

Eugene Coaches continues to run a wide range of trips, with something to suit families, couples and groups looking for an easy day out.

Highlights over the coming weeks include:

  • Saturday 23 May – Clarkson’s Farm Fest
  • Monday 25 May – a Bank Holiday mystery day trip
  • Saturday 6 June – Blackpool
  • Saturday 20 June – Birmingham Sea Life Centre
  • Saturday 4 July – Hunstanton
  • Saturday 11 July – London day trip
  • Saturday 18 July – LEGOLAND Windsor

It’s a mix of classic seaside visits, big-name attractions and flexible days out – all without the hassle of organising transport yourself.

Paris in a day for £149

One of the standout options is a Paris day trip, offering something a little different without the cost or planning of a longer break.

Passengers travel overnight on Friday 24 July, arriving in the French capital the next morning, before enjoying a full day exploring at their own pace.

The trip is priced at £149 per person, including return coach travel and ferry crossing.

The ABBA trip drawing early attention

While summer trips are in full swing, one event already generating interest is the ABBA Voyage trip scheduled for Sunday 22 November, after the first trip was a fast sell-out.

The show, which has become one of the UK’s most talked-about live experiences, blends digital avatars with a live band to recreate ABBA’s biggest hits in a purpose-built arena in London.

With demand consistently high, organised trips like this offer a straightforward way to attend without worrying about travel – and it’s expected to be one of the quicker-selling options.

Christmas trips already lining up

It may only be May, but festive trips are already starting to take shape – and there’s a clear mix of options depending on what you are looking for.

One of those is a Lille Christmas Market trip in November, offering a full festive experience.
Passengers travel overnight on Friday 20 November, spend the day exploring one of Europe’s most popular Christmas markets – with its lights, stalls, food and seasonal atmosphere – before returning Saturday night and home for Sunday morning. Prices are £142 per person, with local pick-up points across the area.

For something more family-focused, there’s also a Disneyland Paris Christmas trip (6th–9th November 2026).
This includes return coach travel, ferry crossing, three nights’ accommodation, shuttle transfers to the parks and two full days inside Disneyland Paris – with festive shows, decorations and seasonal events running throughout the resort. Prices are listed from £400 per person, with flexible payment options available.

Alongside these, traditional Turkey and Tinsel breaks are also planned, offering shorter festive getaways closer to home.

As with most seasonal trips, early booking is advised – particularly for the higher-demand options.

A shift towards simpler travel?

With rising costs and ongoing disruption affecting air travel, coach trips are seeing a steady resurgence – particularly for short breaks and day trips.

For many, the appeal is clear:
reliable, local travel without the complications that can come with flying.
