New Look building in Ilkeston town centre put up for rent

The building currently occupied by New Look in Ilkeston has been put on the market, raising questions about the future of the store.

The two-storey retail unit at 32 Bath Street is being advertised “To Let” by commercial agents, with an asking rent of £23,000 per year.

According to the listing, the property offers approximately 2,841 square feet of retail space across two floors, including a main shop area, changing facilities, storage, office space, and staff amenities.

The unit is described as being suitable for a variety of uses, subject to planning permission.

New Look is currently still trading from the premises, and there has been no official confirmation that the store is due to close.

Ilkeston News has contacted the company for clarification on its future at the site and is awaiting a response.

The prominent corner unit sits in a key position on Bath Street, one of the town’s main retail areas.

If the site does become vacant, it would represent a significant opportunity – and challenge – for the town centre, with residents likely to be watching closely to see what comes next.
