Staff and pupils at Ladywood Primary School stepped back in time today as part of the school’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
The Kirk Hallam school was filled with colour and nostalgia as classrooms transformed into a celebration of past decades, with outfits inspired by the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
Staff fully embraced the theme, arriving in a range of retro looks – from flares and bright prints to classic throwback accessories – creating a fun and memorable day for pupils.
Even the school dog got involved in the celebrations, wearing a 1966 World Cup-inspired shirt in tribute to England’s historic win, adding an extra touch of character to the day.
The event forms part of a wider programme of activities marking 60 years since the school first opened, recognising its long-standing role at the heart of the local community.
Ladywood Primary continues to serve generations of families in Kirk Hallam, with many former pupils now returning as parents themselves.
